I managed to get my hands on a 10 inch round by approx 1.5 inch steel disc. I’m assuming it’s mild steel, I’m just wondering what kind of abuse it can take
My biggest caliber is .300 win mag but I also shoot alot of fmj surplus (5.56 and 7.62)August 29, 2017 at 3:38 pm#7500
i am no metallurgist but i think at 1.5 inches thick not much is going through that but there is only one way to find out…. and you should film it and post it…… but do it safely pls.August 30, 2017 at 7:50 pm#7502
I’ll see what I can do when I’m finished moving to b.c. I just got a new vortex scope for the .300 for my bday I have to site inAugust 30, 2017 at 9:07 pm#7503
i whipped up a 1/8″ steel target just for shits an giggles , 22 and 9mm only dent it from about 65 yards , .357 and .44 make it spin like a doosey and go right through but the steel stretches and deforms , a friend came by and let me try his 375h&h and the target didnt move , i thought i missed , he said nope …… go and check there is a hole punched right through no deformation just like a paper punch…. wow now the target is getting rough i need to find something more substantial maybe 3/8th or 1/2″ and stay away from the 375h&h . 😉
