those noisy buggers are now in season at my place squawking way to early in the morning and way to late in the evening , what do you think…. shotgun or 10-22??
Both! Shotgun while they’re flying and .22 when they’re sitting out further!
yes sir… had luck with both , but now they are wise to me and as soon as i come out they move out of range. might have to get up before dawn and find a good hiding spot.
Have you tried decoys? I’ve hear of guys hunting crows by using a hurt baby crow coyote call and some black paper decoys… mag pies probably wouldn’t be much different
i may have to try that , at first they would sit in the trees quietly while i stalked them , now soon as they get a glimpse of me the bugger off to a fence or field across the hihway . then seem to be worse first thing in the morning , squawking and chattering , so if i can drag my butt outta bed real early 5ish and set up a blind or decent cover , but still that will only get one or two , some one told me if you get one they will all come around for a “funeral” but the ones i got all landed in deep bush so hard for the flock to see??
Crows will have a funeral, not sure about magpies
